Dupage County Market Summary

Real estate activity tends to  peak in this area during late spring and early summer.  This year appears to following  that trend. In a report released last week from the Illinois Association of Realtors, activity has improved during the past month. However, tremendous pressure on prices continues.
 
"Home sales in April picked up from March totals and median home prices are performing better in Illinois than other parts of the country. According to the Illinois Association of REALTORS latest report, total home sales (which include single-family and condominiums) were up 8.5 percent in April 2008 to 9,467 sales compared to March 2008 sales of 8,726; year-over-year sales were down 27.2 percent from April 2007 totals of 13,000. The Illinois median price in April was $187,500, off 6.3 percent from $200,000 in April 2007."
